A synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) belonging to the Khavinson class of short-peptide bioregulators. In-vitro and preclinical research literature reports its penetration of cellular and nuclear membranes and its interaction with DNA, where it is characterized as modulating the expression of genes governing antioxidant enzymes and neuronal signaling. Preclinical studies examine attenuation of reactive oxygen species accumulation in models of oxidative stress and hypoxia.
