TB-500 is a synthetic peptide reproducing the central actin-binding region of thymosin β-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid regulatory peptide expressed across many mammalian cell types. The fragment corresponds to the conserved motif through which Tβ4 engages monomeric actin, and it is produced synthetically rather than isolated from tissue.
